John Paul White is a 4-time Grammy winner as part of The Civil Wars, a duet whose music still touches a huge international fan base in spite of disbanding in 2013. He was a professional songwriter before then, and has put out solo music before and after. The Guardian UK called his last album, Beulah, "beautifully composed, utterly self-absorbed modern country songs", and NPR says it is a "wise, entrancing and meticulous bit of southern folk." A native of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He owns his own great label, Single Lock Records, along with Alabama Shakes' Ben Tanner.
