David Luning, a California native, left rural Sonoma County to study film scoring at Berklee School of Music in Boston. He heard the call of Americana music and left school to devote himself to songwriting and performing. Although Billboard named him as an emerging "California Country" artist, he has an effortlessly resonant voice that also rocks.
He recently released his second album, Restless, which charted on the Americana radio chart (just above Alison Krauss) with a single, Drifting, that you can see here performed live at Paste Studios.
